🌱 What is the role of mutual aid and community care in our lives, outside of institutions? In a disconnected world, how might we reclaim our agency and create the structures of care that can truly support us throughout our lives?
🌀 Over four years I have been part of an experiment with three other members of the Enspiral network - Mel Chan, Richie Khoo & John Gieryn. After meeting as a group at the annual Summerfest Gathering in 2020, we made a commitment to form a "pod" and met fortnightly online, designed in-person and online retreats and engaged in practices of mutual care and support. We learned from others who have practiced these structures before us and created something unique to meet the needs of the moment, especially during COVID.
🎙️ Now in 2024 after four incredible years of dedicated, fortnightly “podding” we’re ready to reflect and reconfigure. As part of finishing well, and to honour the journey together, we decided to document our learnings in a limited four-part podcast.
This is our story; we share learnings from countless online sessions and several retreats for those who are seeking to explore or already engaging in small group formats of mutual aid and support. Over four episodes, we’ll explore how collaborative care models are reshaping communities worldwide. 🌏
